How Blackbaud's Complete Cover System Works
The University of Winnipeg Foundation uses Blackbaud Complete Cover to process digital gifts from our donors online. Each digital donation we receive is subject to a transaction fee, which is taken as a small percentage of the overall gift. With Blackbaud Complete Cover, donors have the option to give an additional amount to Blackbaud to help support the organization's services when making an online gift with their credit card.
As part of the Complete Cover service offered to Blackbaud partners, donors now have the option to cover the transaction fee for gifts of less than $3,000.
After filling out the necessary information on the digital giving page of our website, you will be prompted by the following check box to utilize the Complete Cover option.
Choosing this option is completely optional during your checkout process. If you choose to uncheck the box, both you and the University of Winnipeg Foundation will not pay any transaction fee associated with your online donation.
For reference, a donor who makes a gift of $500 will be asked by the Complete Cover system if they want to donate $545 in order to cover the transaction fee percentage—ensuring the full $500 is put to use supporting the initiative of their choice.
If you want to make a gift of more than $3,000, you will not have the option to use the Complete Cover system and standard fees will apply.
The best way to limit fees is to pay via direct debit. When you choose this payment option, the transaction fee is always $5
