Planned Giving

A planned gift is a charitable donation that can be arranged during your lifetime, and Bunny Gutnik, our Planned Giving Officer, can assist you in making the most effective use of your charitable giving potential. Most (but not all) planned gifts are deferred gifts, such as bequests, life insurance policies, charitable remainder trusts, gifts of residual interest, to name a few.

Planned gifts may also include outright gifts, including major gifts for current needs, and take the form of securities and other gifts which may be structured and timed to limit tax on the capital gain.

Bequests of any size can be directed to a particular faculty, department or program, used to establish a scholarship or bursary or directed to an area of greatest need, such as Entrance Scholarships or the UWinnipeg Collegiate.
