Our Goal: $5,000
We're looking to raise $5,000.00 by December 1, 2018. If you believe in the importance of cultural programs and free public meeting spaces, or just want to help, please make a gift and/or share this page. Every gift, big or small, makes a difference and the more people we can reach; the more likely we’ll be to hit our goal. All gifts made are tax deductible.

About This Project:
This August you might notice some increased activity around the Wii Chiiwaakanak Learning Centre. Artists Kenneth Lavallee and Annie Beach, the people at Synonym Art Consultation, and community members are coming together to cover the Helen Betty Osborne Building with a Star Blanket mural.
The Wii Chiiwaakanak Learning Centre is a community partnership initiative that provides pathways to educational and capacity building opportunities. It is designed to reflect our neighbours’ needs for an educational gathering place that is inclusive and accessible by focusing our efforts on Indigenous, low-income and new Canadians who benefit from additional avenues for gaining access to educational programming. All of their programs are free of charge and open to all families and individuals regardless of age, knowledge, or ability.
Current programs include Spring Break Camp, Sacred Seven, Science Explorers, Women's Self Defense, Learning Anishinaabemowin and Pow Wow Club.
It is thanks to generous donors that Wii Chiiwaakanak Learning Centre is able to open its doors every day, allowing Winnipeg’s inner-city community free and open access to meeting spaces, and numerous cultural programs.
