Dr. Sarah Heath Why I Give
Share:

After nearly 4 years of service, Sarah notes that one of her other favourite places on campus is the Faculty Club, of which she is a committed member at large. Sarah recalls fond memories of socializing with her department in the club and being welcomed by other UW staff over a nice pint and bowl of fresh popcorn, saying that, “I enjoy being part of a community that gives back. I want to be able to say that my own contributions helped better the University as a whole.”
For those considering making a donation, Sarah is quick to point out how many options staff and faculty have in terms of directing their funds. “If you give, you have a great deal of control over where your funds are put to use, from programs to scholarships and everything in between—it’s a chance to be part of something bigger that also allows you, as someone working on campus, to see concrete outcomes stemming from your generosity.”
Prior to joining the University of Winnipeg, Sarah conducted research and evaluation in the field of criminal justice as a Public Servant at Public Safety Canada, Correctional Service Canada and the Department of Justice. She has also collaborated on research and evaluation projects with The eQuality Project, St. Leonard’s Society of Canada, the University of Ottawa Centre for Research on Education and Community Services and the Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity.
